ANCIENT SHAMANIC PRACTICES FOR MODERN TIMES

Have you ever desired a deeper perspective on your life challenges and have guidance and healing available whenever you need it? For thousands of years, shamans around the world have journeyed to an alternate reality using rattles and drumming. WE can easily learn to venture into the hidden realms to gain access to information that may seem quite extraordinary about how to treat and prevent disease, avoid negative situations, clear family issues, plan for our future, and more. You do not have to be a working shaman to access this information. We will learn the age old techniques of Core Shamanism.

What Will I Learn?

The goal of this workshop is to use shamanic journeying to help you cultivate a rich inner world that has unlimited resources. During this basic experiential workshop, participants are introduced to Core Shamanism, the universal, near-universal, and common methods of the shaman to enter non-ordinary reality for problem solving and healing. Particular emphasis is on the classic shamanic journey, one of the most remarkable visionary methods used by humankind to explore the hidden universe otherwise known mainly through myth and dream. Participants are initiated into shamanic journeying, aided by drumming and other techniques for experiencing the shamanic state of consciousness and for awakening dormant spiritual abilities, including connections with Nature.

Practice includes comparisons by participants of their discoveries in shamanic journeys as well as being introduced to shamanic divination and healing. They are also provided with methods for journeying to meet and study with their own individual spirit helpers in non-ordinary reality, a classic step in shamanic practice. Participants learn how the journey is utilized to restore spiritual power and health, and how shamanism can be applied in contemporary daily life to help heal oneself, others, and the Planet.

WHAT TO BRING.

Please bring a hand drum and/or rattle if you have one. If you don’t have one or can’t borrow one, simply add some dry beans or lentils to a plastic jar. Don’t use glass as there is a risk of breaking.    Wear comfortable, loose clothing, warm socks.                                                                                                 Bring a bandanna , eye mask or fabric to cover both eyes comfortably.                                                       A small cushion for your head and a blanket (some folks feel the cold) and a yoga mat to place on floor.                                                                                                                                                 **Bring a clean, rough-surfaced rock approximately the size of a grapefruit (NOT a crystal) that you have found in nature, your garden, side of the road (basically anywhere other than purchased in a store)

Bring a light lunch. Tea, coffee, water and snacks will be provided. We will have a one hour lunch so you will also have time to eat and weather permitting, walk around our beautiful river property and gardens.

Bring a pen and notebook to record your journeys. (Electronic recording, audio, video, photographic, and the use of computers are not permitted during the workshop.)
